Reservations & Deposits

Reservations can be made online or by phone. A credit card is required to confirm your stay. A confirmation email will be sent upon booking; if you do not receive it, please contact us to ensure we have the correct information.


Breakfast Offering (2026 Season)

We offer a light continental breakfast each morning for our guests. For those seeking a full breakfast experience, our Front Desk team is happy to assist with recommendations and reservations at local cafés and restaurants around town.


Deposit Policy
  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.

Check-In & Check-Out
  • Check-in: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Early check-in is subject to availability. Our Front Desk is available until 9:00 PM, and self check-in instructions will be provided for after-hours arrivals.
  • Check-out: By 11:00 AM.
  • Late Checkout Hours: 12:00 PM
  • Late Checkout Fee: USD 35.00
  • All outstanding balances must be settled at check-in.

Payment & Incidental Fees
  • All bookings are subject to Maine lodging tax.
  • A $100 incidental hold is collected at check-in and refunded after departure, provided no damages or additional charges occur.
  • Guests using debit cards should be aware that any authorization placed at check-in is deducted directly from their bank account and may take 5–7 business days to be released, depending on the issuing bank's processing time. For quicker authorization release, we recommend using a credit card.
  • Payments by check must be received at least five days before check-in.

Occupancy & Pet Policy


Room Occupancy: Our standard rooms are designed for up to two guests, while our suites can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests.


Pet Policy


The Trident Inn offers pet-friendly accommodations. Guests with pet allergies must notify us at the time of booking, as they may be placed in a pet-friendly room if no prior notice is given.

  • Dogs are welcome in our designated Garden rooms for a $50 per pet, per night fee.
  • Breed and weight restrictions apply.


Akitas, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Mastiff, Cane Corso, Chow, Dingo, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Korean Jindo, Pit Bull Terriers, Presa Canario, Rottweilers, Staffordshire Terrier, St. Francis Terrier, Wolf Hybrids, Mixed Breeds that include any of the above animals, Guard/Attack dogs, and any animal with a past history of biting or that demonstrates aggressive behavior.


  • Dogs must remain leashed in public areas and are not permitted in indoor dining areas.
  • Designated pet relief areas will be provided—please clean up after your pet.
  • Disruptive or noisy pets may result in early departure without a refund.
  • Pets must not be bathed in room showers or tubs.
  • Owners are responsible for any pet-related damages.

Parking & Vehicles
  • Each room is allocated one designated parking spot while checked-in only
  • RVs, trailers, and oversized vehicles are not permitted.
  • The Trident Inn assumes no responsibility for theft, loss, or damage to vehicles.

Liability & Safety

The Trident Inn is a historic property and is not handicap accessible. Guests should be aware that the inn may have stairs, uneven surfaces, and other architectural features that could impact mobility. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns.

  • The Trident Inn is not liable for injuries, losses, or accidents during your stay, except as required by law.
  • Pool & Hot Tub: No lifeguard on duty. Guests swim at their own risk.

Smoking & Alcohol
  • Smoking & Vaping is prohibited outside of designated areas.
  • Per Maine State Law, only Trident Inn-served alcoholic beverages may be consumed in public areas. Outside alcohol is permitted only in guest rooms.

Age Requirement

Due to our on-premise liquor license, guests must be 21 or older to book and check into a room.


Privacy & Guest Information

Guest personal information is used solely for booking purposes and protected in accordance with our privacy policy.


General Policy

Management reserves the right to deny service or accommodation to guests who do not adhere to these policies. Non-compliance may result in termination of stay, additional charges, or legal action.


By booking, guests acknowledge and agree to these terms for a safe and enjoyable stay at The Trident Inn.


Cancellation Policy

As a small inn, cancellations and last-minute changes have a significant impact on our operations. We understand that plans can change, and we appreciate your consideration.


For standard reservations, cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to your arrival date to receive a refund of your deposit, less a $50 processing fee.


Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will result in a charge for the full cost of the reservation, as the room is unlikely to be rebooked on short notice. This policy also applies to changes in arrival or departure dates that result in a shortened stay. No refunds are provided for late arrivals or early departures.

For holiday reservations, cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to arrival.


Special Offers and Promotional Rates

Special offers and promotional rates are considered unique bookings and are subject to specific cancellation policies. Please check your booking confirmation for details.


Holiday Weekend Reservations

Cancellations within 30 days of arrival will forfeit the full reservation cost. Special policies apply to holiday weekends, including the shoulder dates before and after the holiday.
