A timeless Ogunquit retreat, reimagined for today’s traveler.

The Trident Inn is a place where history and contemporary comfort come together. As Ogunquit’s oldest inn property, our newly renovated accommodations honor its rich past while offering a fresh, boutique experience for today’s adult travelers. Perched above downtown with stunning ocean views, The Trident Inn is designed for relaxation, connection, and exploration.

With elegant suites, inviting common spaces, and an inspired dining experience at Coastal Alchemist, we offer more than just a stay—we create memorable moments. Whether you're visiting for a weekend escape or an extended getaway, The Trident Inn welcomes you to experience the best of Ogunquit.

Meet The Team

Scottie

Vogel

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Scottie Vogel has always had a deep connection to Ogunquit. Spending summers in this vibrant coastal town, he worked at beloved local spots like Amore Breakfast, Black Sushi, That Place, and The Front Porch. After gaining experience in the tech sector, Scottie returned to Ogunquit, purchasing The Front Porch  and later opening Crew OGT in 2021—further embedding himself in the community he loves.

With The Trident Inn, Scottie continues his commitment to fostering spaces where locals and visitors alike can gather, connect, and feel at home.  Inspired by the inn’s historic charm and breathtaking views from its perch above downtown, he envisions a refined yet welcoming retreat that blends timeless elegance with modern coastal comfort.

Ray

Johnston

We are delighted to welcome Ray Johnston as the new General Manager of The Trident Inn. With more than a decade of experience leading boutique hotels, restaurants, and multi-property operations, including serving as Managing Director for Beauport Hospitality Group, Ray brings a deep commitment to service, team culture, and thoughtful guest experiences.

He joins Scott Vogel, Owner, and Mathew Bushey, Assistant General Manager, in guiding The Trident Inn's continued growth and guest-focused leadership.

Mat

Bushey

Originally from Massachusetts, Mat fell in love with Ogunquit during summers with his grandparents, who have called it home since the 1970s. After moving permanently in 2013, he built a thriving hospitality career, spending a decade under the previous owners of 2 Village Square Inn and helping launch two restaurants along the way.

Now, as Assistant General Manager of The Trident Inn and General Manager of Coastal Alchemist, Mat shares his passion for exceptional service and thoughtfully crafted experiences with every guest who walks through the door.

Cam

Mackenzie

Executive Chef Cameron Mackenzie brings a globally inspired perspective to Coastal Alchemist, shaped by years of travel and hands-on experience in some of the world’s most vibrant culinary scenes. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Boston, Cameron has honed his craft from Dublin to New Zealand, developing a style that blends refined technique with bold, worldly flavor.

A former standout athlete, he brings that same discipline and energy into the kitchen—balanced these days
by weekends spent on the sidelines cheering on his kids at their hockey games. At Coastal Alchemist, his menus reflect both his journey and his grounded approach to hospitality: thoughtful, vibrant, and meant to be shared.
